J.C. Chavez Jr. Fight on the 16th
Mexico, Dec 9 (Notimex) - Mexican boxers Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Antonio "Barrio" Meza will be in the capital of Nuevo Leon on December 16th for an event at the Monterrey Arena.
The Sinaloan Chavez Carrasco (23-0, 18 KOs) will compete in his tenth bout of the year and will have as his opponent the American Kevin Payne (13-5-1, 6 KOs), 33 years, who has not fought since November of 2004 when he was defeated by veteran Marty Jakubowski.
The unbeaten Chavez and Payne will exchange blows in a bout scheduled for six rounds at superlightweight.
Antonio "Barrio" Meza will fight against the #3 nationally ranked super bantamweight, Lizardo Moreno, in a ten-round bout.
Meza (18-1, 14 KOs) has fought his way back up after his setback at the hands of Ricardo "Piolo" Castillo at the Plaza Calafia, thus obligating him to fight Lizardo Moreno (15-2, 12 KOs).
In other matchups, Zaid Zavaleta will meet Rodrigo Juarez in an eight-round lightweight bout, Victor "Pitufo" Proa will fight Julio Grimaldo in a six-round superflyweight bout and Michel Garcia will face Filomeno Jaramillo in a four-round bantamweight bout.
